Tax Assessor and Collection Offices Temporarily Operate Virtually

Tax PapersOut of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19, the Tax Assessor’s Office will offer services online and via phone only from Tuesday, Sept. 15 to Monday, Sept. 28. The Tax Collector’s Office will offer services online and via phone on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and will reopen to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Residents and property owners may contact the offices through the following options:

  • Call Tax Collections at 704-283-3848
  • Call Tax Assessor at 704-283-3746
  • Email the office
  • Payment Dropbox: Located on Crowell St. Ext. behind the historic post office
  • Visit our webpage for more online options including paying your taxes

We apologize for any inconvenience. Union County Government is committed to taking numerous actions to protect the health and safety of employees and visitors. If you feel sick, please do not come to a County facility. Most services are offered online or by phone. If you visit a County building or facility, please take the following actions:

  • Wear a face covering.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer often.
  • Keep six feet distance between others when possible.
  • Adhere to the limit of two people per elevator.
