Scheduled Maintenance at the Catawba River Water Treatment Plant

Scheduled Maintenance at the Catawba River Water Treatment Plant

Posted on July 20, 2020

A Glass of WaterOn Tuesday, July 21, 2020, we will be performing scheduled maintenance at the Catawba River Water Treatment Plant, which will temporarily slow production of treated water. As a result, some of our water customers may experience reduced water pressure from approximately 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Following the maintenance, pressure will return to normal.

During this maintenance, water will remain safe to drink.

Because our water supply will be lower than normal, please help conserve water to ensure the available capacity can meet all of our customers’ needs. Please refrain from irrigating and watering your yard on July 21 and only use water for essential activities.

The maintenance is part of a project in Union County’s capital improvement program to increase the capacity of the water treatment plant. Once the project is complete, Union County will have an additional 2 million gallons per day to serve our customers.

We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
