A group of six Union County Human Services employees are being honored for going above and beyond their daily responsibilities to consistently help provide vital information related to COVID-19 to Spanish-speaking residents.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Communications department regularly asked Human Services colleagues for assistance translating website content, social media posts, graphics, and more. The various content was promptly translated, often after-hours and on top of a busy workload, by four employees on the Support Services team: Jeyfrem Ahumada, Juan Becerra, Doralisa Pellane, and Javier Perez.
Additionally, two Eligibility Specialists for the Family and Children’s Medicaid program, Bayardo Velasquez and Mauricio Parra Rios, coordinated and conducted two radio interviews in Spanish to share important information.
“Working together, we are able to share content that is linguistically correct and culturally appropriate, building trust in our community,” said Digital Content Manager Cindy Tribucher, who nominated the group for Union County’s Caught in the Act award program.
Union County has added a Caught in the Act Team Award to recognize a group of individuals once a year for going above and beyond. This award is given in addition to the Caught in the Act award for an individual, which is awarded four times a year.
The six Human Services employees have been selected to receive the first Caught in the Act Team Award. As recipients of the 2020 Caught in the Act Team Award, each employee will receive two additional paid vacation days.
Caught in the Act is a recognition program for Union County employees. This program allows employees to nominate their colleagues for going above and beyond expected roles within their job description.
