The new Goldmine Residential Waste and Recycling Center opened on April 16, 2020 to accept a wide variety of materials for disposal and recycling. The new facility is located at 4600 Goldmine Road, Monroe, NC 28110. It is open to serve Union County residents on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Goldmine site serves as a replacement to the Wesley Chapel location; which closed in May 2019 due to school construction.
