Goldmine Residential Waste and Recycling Center Opens

Goldmine Road Waste & Recycling CenterThe new Goldmine Residential Waste and Recycling Center opened on April 16, 2020 to accept a wide variety of materials for disposal and recycling. The new facility is located at 4600 Goldmine Road, Monroe, NC 28110. It is open to serve Union County residents on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Goldmine site serves as a replacement to the Wesley Chapel location; which closed in May 2019 due to school construction.

Items accepted at the Goldmine site include:

  • Bagged household garbage
  • Household recycling
  • Used motor oil
  • Used oil filters

For a complete list of items accepted and prices, visit the Union County Solid Waste and Recycling webpage. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the current forms of payment accepted are cash, check, or exact change. No credit cards are being accepted at this time.
