Most Union County government offices and facilities will be closed on July 3, 2020 in observance of Independence Day. The Solid Waste Management Center, which includes the landfill and the Austin Chaney Road convenience center will be open regular hours on July 3 and closed on July 4. All other convenience center locations will be closed both July 3 and July 4.
Cane Creek Park will be open with limited activities throughout the Independence Day weekend, including July 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Current amenities available are listed on our Parks and Recreation web page. Special note: The lake and all water activities, including fishing, at Cane Creek Park are closed until further notice due to testing of excessive algae. For additional information, read this article. Jesse Helms and Fred Kirby remained closed until further notice.
The Union County Farmer’s Market will be closed on July 4. The Market will be open Thursday, July 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
