Union County uses multiple strategies for Litter Prevention, using best practices that have proven effective in other communities across the country. One of those strategies is to help facilitate litter collection and community beautification efforts, including an annual litter clean-up event where County employees volunteer their time to beautify our community.

Free Supplies for Litter Clean-Up Events

Are you planning a community clean-up event in Union County? 

Union County Solid Waste provides free litter loaner kits to community groups who organize their own litter collection events.

These kits include:

• safety vests
• litter grabbers
• gloves
• trash bags

Our litter loaner kits are also available for check-out at all Union County Library locations. Visit your local library location today and inquire at the front desk to check out a free kit for your local clean-up effort. 

We also accept bags of litter from your clean-up event for free disposal at our convenience centers. Volunteers may also inquire with us about the option to leave bags of litter at the roadside for our staff to collect.
