Union County does not provide curbside garbage or recycling collection service. The County's waste and recycling services are provided at the Union County Landfill or at residential waste and recycling centers throughout the county where residents may bring bagged garbage and certain recyclable materials for disposal. Most disposal services are free to Union County residents, but fees apply to larger loads, which must be taken to the landfill.   

Most municipalities in Union County provide curbside collection service for residents within their communities, but not all. Please see the chart below with links to towns that provide this service.

If you live inside a municipality, some of your town's annual budget may include funds to cover the cost of curbside garbage collection for their residents. This is not a service funded by County tax dollars, but by municipal tax dollars paid for by municipal tax or fee revenue. Where municipal curbside services do not exist, some residents or neighborhoods contract with a private waste company to provide this service.
