Important Notice to Passengers

Effective July 1, 2025, Union County Transportation will transition to a new scheduling software system. This upgrade will enhance the booking experience and improve the accuracy and reliability of our service schedules.

We deeply appreciate your cooperation and patience as we make this important upgrade. Our goal is to serve you better with a more robust, efficient platform. Thank you for riding with Union County Transportation.

During this transition period, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding.

While we work to ensure a smooth and seamless transition, you may experience minor disruptions such as temporary delays or changes to reservation times.

What to Expect:

Improved communication via SMS and email alerts.

How You Can Help:

Allow extra time for booking or travel during the first few days of July.

All passengers must complete and sign a registration application.

Passengers who miss their scheduled rides without informing dispatch beforehand will have to pay a $10 penalty for each missed ride.

Special Notes

Appointments for Salisbury Clinic must be scheduled no earlier than 9:30 a.m. and completed by 1:30 p.m.
Appointments for Charlotte Clinic:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday appointments must be scheduled no earlier than 8 a.m. and completed by noon.
- Wednesday and Friday appointments must be scheduled no earlier than 8 a.m. and completed by 1 p.m.
Charlotte & Salisbury are for Medical and Veteran Affair appointments only.
On shopping/retail days, you will be dropped off at 11:30 a.m. and have two hours max to shop.
48-hour notice is required for scheduling and cancellations must happen 24-hours before.

Eligibility Requirements

Union County offers transportation services to all residents aged 16 and older, as well as those aged 0-15 when accompanied by a parent or guardian. For riders under 18, a parent or guardian must sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the Rider Guide on their behalf.

We provide scheduled transportation to many types of eligible passengers, including those with mobility issues, special needs, County residents who would like to go to work, the elderly, and general public.

Transportation services are provided at a nominal cost to the passenger, with many costs being covered by either grant or County funds.

Cost depends on time of registration and type of trip scheduled.

Union County’s only source of public transit.

Our goal is to improve and enhance the quality of life for residents by enabling them to access medical care, educational opportunities, jobs, and other resources where they can conduct activities of daily living and enjoy recreational opportunities.

Transportation services are available to residents of Union County through limited NCDOT funded grant programs or through sponsorship of a local human service agency.

Cost depends on time of registration and type of trip scheduled.
