This information relates to tax foreclosures only. For all other foreclosure information please contact the Union County Clerk of Court's Office.
All sales will take place at the Union County Judicial Center located at 400 North Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112.

The Union County Tax Administrator, as authorized by the North Carolina Statutes, is pursuing the collection of delinquent real and personal property taxes through one of the following foreclosure methods:

  • § 105-375.  In Rem: This foreclosure method allows the local government to docket a judgment against real property for delinquent taxes and proceed with a tax sale of the property. Ownership conveyed by Sheriff’s Deed.
  • § 105-374. Judicial: Foreclosure pursuant to this statute is a civil action with all the requirements and characteristics of such an action. The lien being foreclosed includes both the taxes on the land itself and the taxes on all personal property, except registered motor vehicles, owed by the owner of the property. Ownership conveyed by Trustee's Deed or Commissioner's Deed.
