What It Is & How to Stay SafeNorth Carolina's increase in cyclosporiasis does not appear to be connected to the multi-state Taco Bell outbreak. Parsley, cilantro, and lettuce have been commonly reported among North Carolina cases, but no single food has been confirmed as the source of infection.

Recalls
Crystal Temptations is recalling Halloween Chocolatey Eyeballs due to undeclared MILK allergens. Consumption may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in people with milk allergies. The product was distributed in several states, including North Carolina.
Kettle Cuisine is recalling Marketside Tomato Bisque Soup Kit due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious infections, especially in pregnant women and vulnerable individuals. The product was sold at Walmart stores in multiple states, including North Carolina.
Taylor Farms de Mexico is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Cyclospora. The recalled product was distributed in multiple states, including North Carolina.

About Us
Environmental Health includes programs administered pursuant to Chapters 130A and 87-97 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The Division is also responsible for the enforcement of the Union County Ordinance for Solid Waste Management, Mass Gathering Ordinance and Public Health Regulations for Irrigation Wells in Union County.
