UC Alerts is Union County’s official emergency notification system. It provides timely, important information to help keep subscribers informed during emergencies and other situations that may impact public safety or county services. Messages sent through this program include automatic severe weather notifications from the National Weather Service specific to your location as well as custom notifications about severe weather or other types of emergency events that may arise and impact Union County residents. You can trust that messages sent through UC Alerts are based on real-time guidance from County authorities and experts in emergency management. After subscribing, if you receive a UC Alert, please follow the guidance you receive through UC Alerts and take action accordingly for your safety.

How UC Alerts Works

UC Alerts delivers messages through multiple channels, including:
  • Text message
  • Email
  • Voice call
To receive County-issued UC Alerts, you must sign up and provide your preferred contact and location information. Location information allows Union County to send location-based alerts that are relevant to you.

Some weather-related alerts are automatically delivered through the National Weather Service. Signing up for UC Alerts ensures you receive County-specific information and instructions that weather alerts alone may not include.

When You May Receive a UC Alert

You may receive a UC Alert for situations such as:
  • Severe weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Large emergencies or incidents impacting public safety.
  • Evacuations or shelter-in-place instructions.
  • Major road closures or transportation disruptions.
  • Utility outages or infrastructure issues.
  • Other urgent situations where timely information is critical.
UC Alerts are not used for routine announcements or general news.
