Winter Storm Gianna
County Services Delayed or Closed: Tuesday
Tuesday, Feb. 3: Most County facilities and services will open with a delay starting at 1 p.m. All Union County Library locations will open late and close early, operating 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday. Due to the ongoing threat of wet roads refreezing, some County services will remain closed on Tuesday, including:
- Waste and recycling sites, including the County landfill, will be closed to the public all day Tuesday, Feb. 3.
- County parks will be closed to the public all day Tuesday, Feb. 3.
- Transportation services will not operate on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
- All home deliveries in the Senior Nutrition program are canceled on Tuesday, Feb. 3, and congregate meal sites are closed. Clients have received shelf-stable meals for emergencies.
Return to Normal Operations: Wednesday
Wednesday, Feb. 4: All County facilities and services will return to normal operations.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as operational adjustments were in place due to winter weather.
County officials urge residents to:
- Prepare now by reviewing our winter preparedness webpage that includes information on building an emergency kit, signing up for UC Alerts, and planning for possible power outages.
- Stay home and avoid travel during the storm, especially this weekend and Monday morning.
- Use 911 only for emergencies.
