This Public Notice has been revised to allow for remote or electronic participation by one or more Commissioners during the special meeting.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Union County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, August 9, 2021, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, first floor of the Union County Government Center, 500 North Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. Topics planned for discussion include, without limitation, Short Water Line Extension Program, Board Rules of Procedure, and related matters. Other topics may be discussed as permitted by applicable law.
Due to the current states of emergency related to COVID-19, the meeting will have limited physical public attendance and may include electronic participation of one or more County Commissioners. The meeting may be streamed live via the Union County, NC YouTube channel, and will also be available for on-demand viewing after the meeting has concluded on the County’s YouTube channel and website.
Members of the public may also attend the meeting in one of the following ways:
1) Persons may attend through their computer or mobile device by use of the GoToMeeting platform. Instructions to provide comments through this platform are further noted below. You may join the meeting remotely from your computer, tablet, or smartphone at: https://www.gotomeet.me/UCComms/bocc-meetings.
2) Persons may attend through calling in to the meeting via telephone as indicated below. You can dial in using your phone by calling: (224) 501-3412, access code: 478-901-469.
3) Persons may physically come to the noticed address at the time and date listed above. Capacity in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room will be limited. Social distancing measures will apply.
4) Persons may provide written public comments up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled beginning of the meeting. All comments must be received by the Clerk to the Board up to 24 hours prior to the meeting. Comments may either be: (i) mailed to the Clerk to the Board, 500 N. Main Street, Room 914, Monroe, NC 28112; or (ii) e-mailed to the Clerk to the Board at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Board may take such actions related to these matters as the Board deems appropriate, and as per State law provided.
