In accordance with DOT order 1050 2A, Union County Transportation assures the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age or disability, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 and related nondiscrimination authorities, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits or be otherwise subjected to discrimination or retaliation under any program or activity undertaken by Union County Transportation.
It is the policy of Union County Transportation to meet all ADA requirements. The ADA prohibits discrimination based on disability. To be protected by the ADA, one must have a disability or have a relationship or association with an individual with a disability. An individual with a disability is defined by the ADA as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life functions, a person who has a history or record of such impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such impairment. The Transportation Program Manager with the assistance of the System Safety Officer will be responsible for compliance with all ADA requirements. ADA complaints will be directed to the Transportation Director for investigation and follow-up as required.
