The Union County Tax Administrator, as authorized by the North Carolina Statutes, is pursuing the collection of delinquent real and personal property taxes. A final option to collect on unpaid real estate taxes is the commencement of foreclosure proceedings against property for all outstanding taxes and fees that are liens against that property.
One of the collection tools used by the Tax Administrator is the use of an attorney to commence formal foreclosure proceedings under North Carolina General Statute §105-374 against real property on which there are delinquent unpaid property taxes.
Another collection tool that may be utilized by the Tax Administrator is the method of In Rem Foreclosure under North Carolina General Statute §105-375 against real property on which there are delinquent unpaid property taxes.
