About the Low Income Energy Assistance Program

The North Carolina Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a federally-funded program that provides a one-time vendor payment, as long as funds are available, to help eligible households pay their heating bills. The time frame to apply for this benefit is December 1st (households with someone 60 or older) through March 31st of each year.
