Effective July 1, 2025, Union County Transportation will transition to a new scheduling software system. This upgrade will enhance the booking experience and improve the accuracy and reliability of our service schedules.

While we work to ensure a smooth and seamless transition, you may experience minor disruptions such as temporary delays or changes to reservation times.

Eligibility Requirements


Union County’s only source of public transit. 

Our goal is to improve and enhance the quality of life for residents by enabling them to access medical care, educational opportunities, jobs, and other resources where they can conduct activities of daily living and enjoy recreational opportunities.

Transportation services are available to residents of Union County through limited NCDOT funded grant programs or through sponsorship of a local human service agency.

Cost depends on time of registration and type of trip scheduled.

Transportation Enhancing LivesUnion County Transportation is being recognized for its commitment to enhancing the lives of community members. On Saturday, January 28, 2023, Union Diversified Industries (UDI), a local nonprofit organization, presented Transportation leaders the prestigious Enhancing Lives Award for their contributions to improving the lives of Union County residents. Transportation Services Department Manager Theresa Torres and Transportation Supervisor Brandon Earp accepted the award at the inaugural Enhancing Lives Prom.

The team at Union County Transportation Services is honored to receive the Enhancing Lives Award and is proud to be recognized for their contributions to the community. "We are dedicated to providing safe and reliable transportation services to all members of the community, and this recognition from UDI is a testament to our commitment," said Torres.

UDI is a nonprofit organization that is committed to promoting inclusion and accessibility for individuals with disabilities in the community. The Enhancing Lives Award is given to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to providing accessible services and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to participate in community activities and access the services they need.
According to a Facebook post shared by UDI on Feb. 2, "Union County Transportation is a fantastic resource for our community that enables so many people throughout the county by providing safe and reliable transportation to work, shop, doctor’s appointments, and more!" 
The award is not only a recognition of their past efforts but also an inspiration to continue making a positive impact on the community. Union County Transportation is committed to providing accessible and reliable transportation services for everyone in the community, including individuals with disabilities.
