During their regular meeting on Monday, July 20, the Union County Board of Commissioners recognized Union County Water employees for their efforts to help restore water service in Anson County.

The recognition honored employees who helped with a variety of critical tasks, including event coordination, water system flushing and sampling and line repairs. Their work helped support Anson County's efforts to restore safe, reliable water service to residents.

Union County Board of Commissioners Chairman Brian Helms thanked the employees for stepping up to assist a neighboring community in need.

"That's what neighbors do, they help each other," Helms said. He later thanked each employee individually by name, adding, "Thank you all for your efforts. You represented our County very well."

Anson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Jamie Caudle attended the meeting to express his appreciation on behalf of his community.

"It took one single phone call to Union County to ask for help," Caudle said. "The answer was yes, where do you need us and what can we do. And I just want to say thank you."

The Union County Board of Commissioners recognized Union County Water staff who were part of the effort to assist Anson County with repairs to their system.
