Union County is proud to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, a defining moment in our nation’s history. This upcoming milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on our country’s founding principles and honor the progress and resilience of our community.

Rather than forming a single official committee to coordinate events, the County is providing flexibility for various groups, organizations and municipalities to plan events and programs. This approach allows for broader opportunities to plan more events and programs throughout Union County and its numerous municipalities.

The public may view the displays of life-size replicas of our country's founding documents, as well as the core documents that ensured civil rights for women and minorities in our country. View them anytime in Main Street Plaza, in front of the Union County Government Center, under the flagpoles.
