Campers visiting Cane Creek Park Campground this season will notice an exciting upgrade. The Parks and Recreation Department will open a newly expanded camp store on Thursday, April 2 designed to improve the campground experience and better serve visitors. The previous camp store, while well loved, had become too small to meet the growing needs of campers and staff. The new facility offers a larger, more functional layout that supports efficient check-ins and expanded retail offerings for registered campers.
The new camp store will now serve as the primary check-in location for campground reservations and provide a wider selection of essential camping supplies, including firewood, snacks and other commonly needed items. Campers can also pick up Cane Creek Park merchandise at the store.
"This new Camp Store is about improving the customer service experience for our campers," said Jim Chaffin, Parks and Recreation Director. "This upgrade allows us to serve guests more efficiently while also expanding the items available for purchase."
In addition to improving convenience, the expanded retail space created opportunities for future growth. Revenue generated through Camp Store purchases will directly support park operations, maintenance and programming, which helps Union County reinvest in parks without increasing campground fees. Campers are invited to visit the new camp store beginning April 2 during regular campground operating hours.
"We're excited to welcome both returning and first-time campers into the new space," added Chaffin. "Whether you forgot to pack an item you need or just want a snack for the trail, the camp store is here to make your stay easier and more enjoyable."
