After a seven-month renovation, the public entrance to the Government Center off Main Street Plaza will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 17. All County services have been operational throughout the renovation project, but visitors have accessed the facility through a temporary entrance on the ground floor.

The remodeled lobby has enhanced accessibility and security features. Visitors will notice an automatic sliding door as they enter the facility from Main Street Plaza. After entering the Government Center, visitors will be asked to show photo identification to the security guard at the welcome desk in the lobby. All adult visitors will then receive a temporary "Government Center Visitor" sticker badge to wear throughout their visit.

This renovation project included several key upgrades to our primary facility:

• Accessible exterior doors;
• New turnstiles and enhanced security infrastructure.
• New flooring and fresh paint or wall coverings in the first floor corridor, the first floor lobby, and the Board of Commissioners' meeting room, vestibule, and conference room.
• The old security desk was removed, making way for a new, more advanced security desk to welcome our visitors.
• Construction work included new framing, sheetrock, walls, lighting, ceiling grids, and other needed improvements to the area.

Thank you for your patience with this important project as we have worked to ensure that the Government Center is secure and accessible for County residents and staff.

Enhanced visitor security: All adult visitors will now receive a temporary "Government Center Visitor" sticker, printed at the security desk, featuring their photo and the specific departments they are visiting.

The old security desk has been replaced with this modern, high-tech workspace, allowing security staff a clear view of the new turnstiles and the building directory.

 
New glass turnstiles have been installed as part of the facility’s enhanced security infrastructure, providing a sleek but secure entry point for the remodeled corridor.

Navigating the new exit process: When leaving the facility, employees and visitors can proceed through the turnstiles without scanning, exiting through the dedicated single door leading back to Main Street Plaza.
