Union County Government has promoted Corey Brooks to serve as Director of Procurement and Contract Management, where he will lead the County’s centralized procurement services supporting all County departments.
In this role, Brooks oversees complex, high-value procurements and leads countywide initiatives focused on compliance, efficiency and strategic sourcing. The Procurement and Contract Management Department ensures contracts are awarded to the lowest responsible bidder while carefully evaluating quality, performance, and timelines outlined in proposals.
“Corey has demonstrated exceptional leadership and professionalism in his six years with Union County,” said Assistant County Manager Clayton Voignier. “During his time as Interim Director, he provided steady leadership and advanced important operational and policy initiatives. We are confident he will continue to strengthen procurement practices that support transparency, accountability, and service to our community.”
Brooks has more than 15 years of experience in purchasing, contract management and vendor relations. Prior to his promotion, he served as Senior Procurement Specialist and most recently as Interim Director of Procurement and Contract Management for six months, ensuring continuity and progress during the leadership transition.
"I’m honored to step into the role of Director of Procurement and Contract Management and grateful for the trust placed in me," Brooks said. "I look forward to continuing to support our departments, strengthen partnerships, and advance the County’s mission and long-term goals."
A Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO), Brooks is also a recipient of the CLGPO Steven C. Graham Achievement Award, recognizing excellence in public procurement.
A lifelong Union County resident, Brooks values family, community and building strong relationships. Outside of work, he enjoys fitness, golf, and spending time with his family.
