As the new school year approaches,
Union County Public Health reminds parents of the required immunizations for students entering kindergarten, 7th, and 12th grades - or any student who may be missing routine childhood vaccines. State law mandates these vaccinations, and failure to provide proper documentation within 30 days of a student’s first day can result in school exclusion starting as early as Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025.
“In recent years, we've seen nearly four-hour wait times for patients at our walk-in Exclusion Day clinic,” said Maegan Trull, Public Health Nursing Supervisor. “We’ve expanded appointment availability and added options to reduce those long lines and ensure every child is ready for school.”
- Extended clinic hours starting Aug. 11
- Appointments-only, double clinic on Tuesday, Sept. 23
- Exclusion Day Walk-In Clinic on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
