Union County Library is inviting residents of all ages to "Color Our World" this summer through books, imagination and community fun! The annual Summer Reading Program is now underway, offering exciting events, creative challenges, and chances to win great prizes for every age group.
“Whether you’re five or 95, there’s something magical about diving into a good book,” said Library Director Nina Chaffin. “Summer Reading is our invitation for families to explore, create and learn together.”
How It Works:
From June through July, participants can track their reading, attend programs at local library branches, and take part in weekly activities. Readers are encouraged to log books or reading hours either online or with a paper tracker available at any branch.
This year’s program is filled with vibrant opportunities to get involved. Whether you’re reading under the sun, attending a library event, or visiting the OLiVe mobile library van, every moment brings you closer to fun incentives and grand prize drawings.
Prizes Include:
-
Ages 0–5: Plush storybook characters.
-
Ages 6–11: 3D printing pens with filaments.
-
Teens: High-quality headphones and art supply bundles.
-
Adults: Summer-themed gift baskets from local Union County businesses.
Plus, weekly drawings will be held for readers who engage with staff and participate in interactive events—prizes include book-themed backpacks and coloring books.
Visit OLiVe at library outreach stops and track four visits for a special entry into a bonus prize drawing!
