Union County’s Commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary

Union County is proud to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, a defining moment in our nation’s history. This milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on our country’s founding principles and honor the progress and resilience of our community.

Stars, Stripes, and Strides 5K and Fun Run

The City of Monroe is inviting the community to lace up their running shoes for the Stars, Stripes, and Strides 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, September 19, at the Monroe Aquatics & Fitness Center Water Park. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $30 per participant and remains open through September 1, 2026.

Runners will compete for awards recognizing the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each age group. Participants are encouraged to wear their patriotic colors in celebration of America 250.

Registration is open through September 1. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to sign up early to guarantee their spot.
