Vietnam Veterans Honored for Service

June 17, 2015, Monroe, NC – More than 60 Vietnam Veterans and spouses attended a meeting on Tuesday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2423 in Indian Trail where Anthony Parker, Veterans Service Officer with Union County, thanked and honored the veterans for their service by presenting them with a proclamation, pins and a patch.

The event was held in conjunction with the United States of America Commemoration for Vietnam War Veterans. In 2012, the U.S. Department of Defense began a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War that will continue through 2025.
