Union West Regional Library To Present “Alzheimer’s, A Personal Awareness” Program

Posted on 10/12/15

October 12, 2015, Indian Trail, NC– The Union West Regional Library at 123 Unionville-Indian Trail Road in Indian Trail will host Amy Curtis of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. Amy will speak about Alzheimer's disease and end of life care. She will present this thought-provoking program for anyone interested in the care of those suffering from this debilitating disease.

"This is a difficult topic to talk about, but it is very important", said Cliff Rhodes, library assistant and coordinator of the program. "This is a disease that takes a toll on the patient as well as those caring for them. This program will allow people to ask questions about the disease and find out how best to care for those that are afflicted."

In addition to Amy’s informative talk, there will be a book drawing for three lucky participants. The book, 1000 Simple Things You Can Do To Prevent Alzheimer’s And Age-Related Memory Loss is written by bestselling author Jean Carper and comes with rave reviews.

The program will be held in the meeting room at Union West Regional Library and no registration is required.
