August 2, 2015, Monroe, NC – In an effort to create a better partnership with our business community and share important information with taxpayers, Union County is offering Business Personal Property seminars once each month through December.
All interested business owners, future business owners and accountants are invited to attend one of the two-hour seminars.
The Tax Office will also host a presentation on Aug. 18 at the Union County Agriculture Center for farmers to learn about listing personal property, applying for Use Value, and Use Value compliance. In particular, the presentation will discuss the listing process, ownership, acceptance to the programs, compliance reviews and changes farmers may make and how it affects them.
“The Tax Office’s main focus this year is to help taxpayer understand the listing form,” said Tax Administrator John Petoskey.” “We want to become educators of our programs, get the word out to the public to better assist them, and hopefully change how they perceive the Tax Office. The Union County Tax Administrators Office is here to help our taxpayers.”
