    • Applicants will be able to schedule or reschedule their fingerprint appointment online
    • Applicants are notified of the receipt of their online application, the need for additional documentation and the issuance or denial of the permit via automated emails, phone calls and text messages.
    • All orders are given a unique order number to help with reference and tracking.
    • Applicants can log into the Sheriff’s website and check the status of their order using their order number, email address and password (created by the applicant during the application process).
    • Once the application is approved, the applicant must pick up the permit(s) in person at 3344 Presson Rd. Monroe, NC 28112. The applicant must present his/her valid NC issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or ID card which matches the name and address provided on the application.

The online handgun purchase permit system can be located at Applicants should click on the link titled “Concealed Handgun Permits” on the right side of the page. There will be a link which takes applicants to the web page where they can easily complete the online application. The same Federal and State laws will apply to applications completed online.
