Procurement Division Receives Purchasing Award

Posted on 03/20/17

March 20, 2017 Monroe, NC – The Union County Procurement Division met the requirements to receive the Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing (CAGP) 2016 Sustained Professional Purchasing Award (SPPA). The SPPA Award was presented to the Procurement team on March 7.

Procurement responded to the detailed application process that required substantial documentation. The SPPA is presented annually by the CAGP organization to member agencies that have demonstrated excellence in purchasing standards during the calendar year. Union County's Procurement Division is one of 15 agencies throughout the association to receive the award.

Procurement provides centralized procurement services to all Union County service areas and divisions while ensuring contracts are awarded to the lowest responsible bidders taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in proposals for the performance of contracts.
