July 7, 2016, Monroe, NC – The Jimmie Johnson Foundation Cane Creek Sprint Triathlon will be held at the beautiful lakeside setting in and around Cane Creek Park at 5213 Harkey Road in Waxhaw on Tuesday, July 26 at 6 p.m.
The triathlon will consist of a 500-yard swim, 13-mile bike ride and 5K run. The 13- mile bike course circumnavigates Cane Creek Park on rolling rural roads. The 500-yard swim course is an out and back triangle off of the sandy beach. The 5K run course is an exciting run using a combination of paved road in the park and trail along the banks of the lake. The trail used for the run is a single track trail with beautiful views of the lake. The run is entirely contained within Cane Creek Park.
This USAT sanctioned event is the second event of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation Wellness Challenge. The event can be done as an individual or as part of a relay team.
Participants can register early at jimmiejohnsontri.racesonline.com. Same-day registration begins at 3:30 p.m. on July 26 and ends at 5 p.m. Same-day packet pick-up is from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Cane Creek Park will close at 3 p.m. on July 26. On Race Day, please follow the Jimmie Johnson Wellness Challenge parking signs to help find the parking lot.
