EMS Turns 30

July 21, 2015, Monroe, NC – The Union County Board of Commissioners on Monday adopted a proclamation recognizing the 30th anniversary of Union Emergency Medical Services.

Union County EMS was organized June 24, 1985, to provide emergency care to the citizens of Union County. Union County EMS became Union Emergency Medical Services in 1997 after acquisition by Carolinas HealthCare System.

Union EMS continues to provide specialized pre-hospital emergency care to the sick and injured of Union County, and in its thirty years of existence, Union EMS has treated and transported as many as 296,000 patients.

Union EMS celebrated its 30 years of service to the citizens of Union County during the week of June 29-July 3, 2015.
