Christmas Bureau Finds New Location

Posted on 11/04/16

November 4, 2016, Monroe, NC – The Union County Christmas Bureau will operate out of the former Queen City TV & Appliance building at 2509 W. Roosevelt Blvd. in Monroe this year.

“We are very grateful to the Player Family Associates for allowing us to use the facility to store and distribute gifts to the hundreds of families we will serve this year,” said Gloria Haney, volunteer services coordinator for the Union County Division of Social Services.

The Christmas Bureau is currently taking applications from families that request assistance for the Christmas season on Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Union County Division of Social Services at 1212 West Roosevelt Blvd. in Monroe. Applications will be taken until Nov. 18.

The Christmas Bureau requests that donations be made before Friday, Dec. 9, if possible. Groups or individuals may also assist by sponsoring families or children, filling stockings for children, or helping to match wish lists with toys at the distribution at the distribution site. Monetary donations may be made in person or mailed to the Christmas Bureau at P.O. Box 79104, Charlotte, NC 28271. All donations are tax deductible.

The Christmas Bureau is seeking volunteers. If you are able to help, call Gloria Haney at 704- 291-9041 or email Christmas@unioncountync.gov. You can also register to volunteer at hopeunioncounty.org and click on the Volunteer link.
