Candidate Filing Period Begins December 1

November 18, 2015, Monroe, NC—The candidate filing period for the 2016 Primary and General Election will be from 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1 to 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21 at the Union County Board of Elections’ office located at 316-B East Windsor Street in Monroe.

Offices candidates can file for with the Board of Elections are N.C. Senate-Districts 35 and 36, N.C. House-Districts 55, 68 and 69, Commissioner (2 seats) and Register of Deeds. Other offices file with the N.C. State Board of Elections.

The date of the 2016 Statewide Primary, including the Presidential Preference Primary, is Tuesday, March 15, 2016. For additional information, call 704-283-3809.
