September 19, 2016, Monroe, NC – Precinct officials are needed to work the polls for the Tuesday, Nov. 8 Election.
Precinct officials are paid a flat rate for attending training, setting up sites the day before the election and working from 5:30 a.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. on Election Day.
Qualifications include being a Union County registered voter (or become registered if eligible); must not be a candidate or relative of a candidate on the ballot; and must not be an elected government official, hold office with a political party or be a treasurer for a candidate or political party. In addition, precinct officials should be computer proficient and have reliable transportation.
