August 28, 2015, Monroe, NC – On Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Union County Department of Human Services, the Division of Social Services convened a meeting with representatives from the State Bureau of Investigation, Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department, Union County Emergency Management, Union County Sheriff’s Department and the Division of Public Health to review and update DSS’s protocols in Child Welfare Services and Adult Protective Services in relation to clandestine drug (Meth) labs.
“The success of the Department of Human Services in addressing critical issues such as this is fundamentally tied to the collaborative efforts from so many partners,” said Executive Director of Human Services Richard Matens. “A huge “Thank You” goes out to everyone involved.”
