Registration is not required to speak, however advance registration is strongly encouraged and helps ensure your opportunity to speak is provided in an orderly fashion. You may also register in person up until the start of the meeting if you choose to attend.

All public comments, regardless of form, are subject to the County’s policy on public comments, including time limits (if applicable).
The deadline to register to speak is by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Each speaker must address the board from the lectern and begin their remarks by giving their name, stating whether they are residents of Union County, indicating the municipality within which they reside, if any, and stating the topic about which they intend to speak. Each speaker will have three (3) minutes to make remarks. A speaker may not yield any of his or her time to another speaker. Speakers may not discuss matters which are the subject of public hearings, and they must be courteous in their language and presentation. Restatements or repetitive comments by the same speaker, whether at the same or separate meetings, may be ruled out of order and terminated by the chair. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Speakers may leave written comments and/or supporting documents, if any, with the clerk to the board.
Residents are able to provide written comments in advance of Board of County Commissioners meetings. All comments should indicate the meeting and topic to which the comments are directed and include an address and phone number. While it is strongly recommended that written comments be received by the Clerk to the Board Office by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting, all written comments must be received by the Clerk within 24 hours after the meeting concludes.
