Qigong for Beginners

Monday, February 23, 2015 – The Main Library in Monroe and Edwards Memorial Library in Marshville are hosting a free series of classes in March for those with an interest in practicing the Chinese healing art of Qigong, which offers gentle, relaxing exercise that can improve physical and emotional well-being.

According to a 2010 study published in the American Journal of Health Promotion, people who practice Qigong experience a variety of positive physiological and psychological health outcomes, including greater range of motion and a reduction in stress and anxiety.

Classes will be offered on:

Monday, March 2nd – 9:30 am at the Main Library, Monroe

Monday, March 2nd – 11:00 am at the Edwards Memorial Library, Marshville

Friday, March 6th – 9:30 am at the Main Library, Monroe

Friday, March 6th – 11:00 am at the Edwards Memorial Library, Marshville

Ms. Marie Theriault, a certified Qigong instructor with 600 hours of training, will lead each class. Registration is not required. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to practice movements while standing.
