Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting

The Union County Sheriff's Office offers fingerprinting services for a variety of reasons including child care providers, foster parents, adoption, employment, insurance producers, nursing, volunteer firefighters/EMS, etc. Fingerprinting is done by appointment.

All fingerprinting is done at the Union County Judicial Center with the exception of concealed handgun permit fingerprints. Concealed handgun fingerprint appointments are set up when you apply for your concealed weapon online through our website. The concealed weapon fingerprints are still conducted at the Union County Sheriff's Office at 3344 Presson Rd. If you have any questions or problems with the website scheduling process, call 704-283-3540.

Effective October 1, 2012 the Union County Sheriff's Office will charge a fee of $20.00 for all fingerprinting services for anyone who is not a resident of Union County. Proof of residency will be determined by presenting a valid, North Carolina issued driver's license or ID card. Fingerprinting services will continue to be provided to Union County residents at no charge.

If you are applying for a concealed handgun permit, the cost of fingerprinting is included in the permit fee.
